Puppet Theater Museum & Puppet Theater
In the center of Herisau, in a typical old Appenzell house, the Puppet Theater Museum immerses visitors in the imaginative, colorful world of puppet theater. Spread over three floors, there are various marionettes, hand puppets, and other figures to discover, along with all kinds of exciting things to learn. Each year, a different exciting Swiss stage is portrayed. The annual exhibition is supplemented by thematic presentations from the museum's own collection, allowing visitors to discover and explore new facets of puppetry time and again. The museum can be reserved exclusively on request; guided tours for groups with or without refreshments can also be booked.
Strolchi awaits young visitors
The cat Strolchi accompanies children on a lovingly designed play and adventure trail with interactive stations throughout the museum, allowing them to become puppeteers themselves.
The exhibitions are also available in French and English.

Admission is free for children from the cantons of AR and SG.
